The Paul M. Crandall Family Agriculture Scholarship was created to honor Paul Milo Crandall, Jr. who passed away in August 2022.

For over 60 years, Paul farmed – with his parents Paul Crandall, Sr. and Maxine Crandall, his wife Margaret Crandall and their children – successfully managing the family’s properties, crops and livestock. Paul believed strongly in contributing to the welfare of one’s community, and served on the Warren County Fair Board, Roseville School Board, and numerous other church and community committees.

The Paul M. Crandall Family Agriculture Scholarship is a $1,000 award to a qualified senior from Monmouth-Roseville High school (Monmouth, IL) who is pursuing an agriculture-related degree at an Illinois college with plans to work in an agriculture-related career in Illinois after completing their college degree.

Please be certain to have all materials collected and completed before submission. Incomplete applications will be deemed ineligible and will not be considered.

To be eligible, a student must:

• Be a senior in good standing at Monmouth-Roseville High School

• Have been involved in community service throughout their high school career

• Have been involved in extracurricular activities

• Have a strong, positive academic record

• Graduate by June 30, 2024 from Monmouth-Roseville High School

• Be attending, on a full-time basis, a 2-year or 4-year Illinois college/university by September 30, 2024 and majoring in an agriculture-related field

 

Students must submit the following required items*:

1.) Application ("Scholarship Application" tab)

2.) Essay (250 words max.; details included in application)

3.) Copy of official high school transcript

4.) Activities Form ("Activities" tab)

5.) One (1) Letter of Recommendation on letterhead provided in sealed envelope. Recommender cannot be family members.

  • Letter must be from a professional (teacher, guidance counselor, mentor, leader, advisor, volunteer coordinator, etc.) who can attest to your character, motivation and prospect for success in higher education and chosen agricultural career.

 

Reminder: Letters of Recommendation take time to write; provide your recommender with adequate time to prepare your letter and mail in advance of the application deadline.
